ONLINE AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES

Some of our enrichment providers have set up virtual classes for the Spring! As details come available, they will be posted to this page and to our Facebook group. Click the links below for more information or to register for classes with the individual providers.

Dismissal & Pick-up Procedure

We are implementing a new dismissal & pick-up procedure to increase student safety and make it easier for parents / guardians to pick-up children from multiple activities on the same day. ALL students will be dismissed from or signed out from the cafeteria.

  • After School Activities are held from 3:25-4:25 p.m. Please arrive no later than 4:25 p.m. for pick-up. 
  • You may park in front of the school during pick-up, but not in designated bus parking lanes.
  • Instructors will escort students to the cafeteria at the end of the activity hour. 
  • Enter the school using the cafeteria entrance or the front entrance, and proceed to your child’s meeting spot in the cafeteria (signs will be posted)
  • All students must be signed out by their parent / guardian with the instructor.

Standards of Behavior

We want to ensure that all students participating in the after-school enrichment programs enjoy the experience. In order for this to happen, it is expected that all students will conform to regular Oak View classroom and school rules and regulations while attending a program. The providers are experienced instructors and will use accepted classroom management techniques to allow children to adjust.

If a child continues to have difficulties, instructors will discuss the situation with parents during pick-up. Enrichment providers each have their own protocols for determining when a child should be withdrawn from class. It is also up to the individual providers to determine whether partial refunds will be given in these situations. We look to all parents to support our class providers so that all children can enjoy the after-school classes.

Registering for Activities

We are excited to introduce a partnership with Homeroom, a software designed to make scheduling and managing after-school enrichment classes easier for everyone.

What does that mean for Oak View parents?

  • A simple enrollment. Enroll your children in all their enrichment classes at once, and with a single transaction.
  • The ability to sync classes to your calendar.  Never spend your time adding class dates to your calendar. Homeroom takes care of it for you!  
  • A shared family calendar.  Do other family members need to view your child’s schedule and pick up? Share access to your family’s calendar.

Using Homeroom is Easy

In advance of enrollment opening, feel free to view the schedule and create an account on Homeroom. You can also wait and create an account at the time of purchase.

  1. Visit https://www.homeroom.com/sites/oak-view-elementary-fairfax 
  2. While viewing classes, you can filter by grade level or day of the week at the top. 
  3. To learn more about a program, click “See Details” which will provide you with more information on the course and the company leading it
  4. When enrollment opens and you’re ready to book, click “Login to Purchase” (or “Add to Cart” if you are already logged in) If you don’t already have an account on Homeroom, click “New to Homeroom? Sign Up” to create an account.
  5. Once you’re done selecting classes, click your cart button in the upper right hand corner and click “View My Cart”
  6. Once you proceed to checkout you’ll add your student information for each class including their dismissal option for that day
  7. After all student information has been added, you’ll finalize your purchase by adding in your credit card 
  8. Lastly, once all classes have been booked, you’ll be able to see them in your Homeroom account or add them to your Google calendar.
  9. A confirmation email will be sent immediately after purchase and as a reminder 48 hours before the first class starts.
